Littering has been an ongoing problem in today’s society. Inevitably, this has caused cause environmental impacts. It also shows the lack of education, good habits, and public awareness many people may have.
How might we be able to jump start and develop good habits and environmental awareness when it comes to littering?
Next Generation. Children are the key for the solution. Build up and educate early. Develop a good cleaning routine and educate children how to take care of waste for the benefit of our environment.
What better environment to teach children these fundamentals than in a classroom.
INTERVIEW AND RESERACH :
Teachers, parents and children from ages 5 - 10 were interviewed to understand how children that age learn. What are the key factors that motivate them to want to gain the knowledge and
acquire the skills necessary.Element of fun

IDEATIONS :
Recycle bins are given and assigned to teams in the classroom. They are taught and guided by the teacher on the fundamentals of trash and recycling.
Throughout their week, the trash each team accumulated in their bin will be checked. The more stars the better their chance to win!
They are rewarded for understanding and following directions, developing habit for the future.
